Ingredients

    • 8 slices of brioche or challah bread
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (plus more for dusting)
    • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
    • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
    • 2 large eggs
    • 3 tbsp milk
    • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)

    Instructions

    1. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and cream

    2. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto one side of four bread slices.

    3. Add sliced strawberries and a spoonful of strawberry jam on top of the cream cheese layer. Cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.

    4. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.

    5. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated.

    6. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

    7. Remove from the skillet and let drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

    Tips dor Success

      • Use thick-cut bread to prevent the filling from leaking.

      • Chill the assembled sandwiches for 15-20 minutes before frying to help them hold their shape.

      • For a lighter version, try air-frying or baking instead of deep-frying.

      Styling & Presentation Tips

        • Use pastel or neutral-colored plates to make the vibrant red strawberry filling pop.

        • Add fresh mint leaves or edible flowers for a touch of elegance.

        • Serve with a side of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra decadence.
